Ski

This week’s theme: Winter / Today’s Daily Art Prompt: Ski / Medium: Watercolor / Daily Art Count: 16/100

I really enjoyed this one! I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out.

When I was young, my family and I went skiing a lot, but we cross-country skied. It was so much fun because you could go anywhere. My dad would break trail, with my sister, my mom, and I following behind. We explored all over. We also had a special cross-country ski area about 45 minutes away. It had three different trails: Sugar Loaf, Crooked John, and Little California. I’ve only been downhill skiing 3 times ever! Lots of great memories out in the woods… we’d ski to the middle of nowhere, and my dad would bust out his little camp stove and we’d have a can of hot soup and some sandwiches. Campbell’s Bean with Bacon was our favorite (“Beany Bacon” as my dad would say.) There’s something about hot food on a cold day outdoors — it tastes better than any 5 star restaurant!
