High Desert Sunset

Original acrylic painting of high desert sunset

This week’s theme: Landscapes / Today’s Daily Art Prompt: High Desert Sunset / Medium: Acrylic on Watercolor Paper / Daily Art Count: 49/100

Today, I busted out my acrylic paints to explore some layering techniques for this high desert sunset. I love looking directly toward the sun in a sunset, but sometimes looking to the east instead of the west reveals even more beautiful colors!

Join me as I work to make art for 100 days, following the daily art prompts inside Bonnie Christine’s Flourish Membership, and sometimes deviating based on what I feel like doing. Each week has a theme with 7 prompt words within that theme. Flourish is a monthly membership for artists and designers, opening in May and October of each year. Want to learn more?
