Winter Clouds

Acrylic painting of fluffy clouds over a hilly landscape by Stacie Humpherys

This week’s theme: Landscapes / Today’s Daily Art Prompt: Winter Clouds / Medium: Acrylic on Watercolor Paper / Daily Art Count: 50/100

Day 50! I’m so proud that I’ve made 50 pieces of art so far!

This painting was inspired by the great fluffy clouds we had just a few days ago. My husband and I took our pups out to sniff around for birds and just run in a nearby wildlife management area. I took lots of photos of these amazing clouds, and the shadows they cast over the bare farmland, and used these photos as source material for this small painting. Check out my timelapse below.

Join me as I work to make art for 100 days, following the daily art prompts inside Bonnie Christine’s Flourish Membership, and sometimes deviating based on what I feel like doing. Each week has a theme with 7 prompt words within that theme. Flourish is a monthly membership for artists and designers, opening in May and October of each year. Want to learn more?
