Sale Banner

This week’s theme: Shopping / Today’s Daily Art Prompt: Sale Banner / Medium: Watercolor / Daily Art Count: 23/100

This painting came from a collaboration with my mom & dad. Ever since the beginning of COVID when we were in semi-lockdown and I couldn’t see my parents (my dad is immune compromised), we started having coffee each morning together over the phone or FaceTime. I’ve since been able to visit my parents but we’ve kept the tradition of calling one another each morning, having our coffee, and shooting the you-know-what. It’s such a lovely way to start the morning.

After asking me what today’s prompt was, my mom told me I should paint a Christmas Tree farm, and my dad said, “And you should put a sad little Charlie Brown tree out front with a sale tag on it.” I love when others get to be part of my art-making process. So here’s the final product for “Sale Banner”. Thanks, Mom & Dad!
