Case Study: Leggings to a Luxury Hotel
Some collections start with a clear vision. This one started with a children's clothing request — and ended with a luxury hotel commission.

Process & Illustration
Where Every Collection Begins
Each Pine + Feather Studio collection starts with original hand-drawn illustrations: from loose pencil sketching to ink to watercolor renderings. Every element is always drawn and painted by hand. We never use AI.
-
Original Illustrations - Watercolor and Ink
Mixed-media original artwork featuring native Intermountain West species — Gambel's Quail, American Bison, Western Meadowlark, Red-tailed Hawk, Indian Paintbrush, and Rabbitbrush.
-
Sketch Development - Warhawk Toile
Early pencil studies for the Warhawk Air Museum commission. Each motif — from the A-10 Warthog to the K-9 patrol team — was researched and drawn by hand before being refined into the final toile repeat.
How Custom Work Works
Most projects begin with a conversation. Here's what the path from idea to installed wallpaper typically looks like.
-
01 / Start with a Conversation
Tell us about your space, your project, and what you're envisioning. We don't need finalized specs to begin — early conversations are welcome and often where the best ideas emerge.
-
02 / Design & Refinement
We develop the design collaboratively — working from your concept, an existing collection, or a site plan. Revisions are part of the process. We're comfortable working from CAD files, architectural drawings, and detailed specifications.
-
03 / Production-ready delivery
Final artwork is prepared for production through trusted partners, with substrate selection, sampling, and technical documentation handled from our end. You receive a production-ready result — not just a pretty file.
Have a Project in Mind?
