First Light is the most airy and approachable colorway of our Huckleberry Thief pattern — a Rocky Mountain interpretation of classic Arts & Crafts design.

Soft bluebirds, wildflowers, and trailing botanical forms create a gentle rhythm across a warm neutral ground, evoking the feeling of early morning sunlight filtering across a mountain meadow.

Designed to feel timeless yet fresh, this palette brings vintage botanical character into modern interiors without overpowering a space.

Design Details

Inspired by native Rocky Mountain flora and fauna, First Light features mountain bluebirds carrying huckleberries, wildflowers and trailing botanical vines in classic Arts & Crafts symmetry, and a warm creamy ground that reads soft and luminous on walls.

Color Story

A calming, nature-inspired palette designed for maximum versatility: warm creamy off-white background, soft sage and moss botanical greens, dusty bluebirds, buttercream and blush florals, and muted terracotta berries.

Designer Notes

First Light is often specified as a foundational neutral wallpaper — providing pattern, movement, and historic character while remaining easy to layer with textiles, wood tones, and architectural finishes. It pairs beautifully with natural oak and walnut, warm stone surfaces, linen and wool textiles, and vintage and transitional furnishings.

Part of The Wildcraft Collection — a signature Pine + Feather Studio series celebrating the artistry of the Arts & Crafts movement through the lens of the Rocky Mountain West.

Wallpaper Types + Ordering

Available on four materials: PVC-Free Type II and Commercial Vinyl (Type II, Class A fire rated, for commercial and permanent residential installations), Pre-Pasted (Type I, Class A, water-activated, fully removable), and Peel & Stick (Type I, self-adhesive, removable within a year). Every pattern is printed to order in the USA with GREENGUARD Gold certified inks and is available as a 24 × 12 inch swatch, $9 to $12 depending on material, so you can check true color and scale at home before ordering rolls. US orders ship free. The full materials comparison is further down this page.

Before you order

Start with a swatch (from $9). Each swatch is 24 x 12 inches, enough to check true color, texture and scale on your own wall and in your own light.

Then measure. Rolls are 2 feet wide. Every material comes in a 12-foot roll (about 24 sq ft), and PVC-Free Type II and Commercial Vinyl also come in a 27-foot roll (about 54 sq ft). Our wallpaper calculator works out how many rolls your room needs, including pattern matching.

All sales are final. Every roll is printed to order, so we can't accept returns. If anything arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, contact us within 30 days of the ship date and we'll make it right.

Shipping. US shipping is free. Wallpaper is printed within a week of your order and usually arrives in about 1 to 2 weeks.
